The first wine recommendation on Pasto is rather incidental but maybe this is a good place to start. Relatively easy to find outside Portugal, the popular Grão Vasco from the Dão Region commemorates its 50th anniversary this year. The Grão Vasco brand is a tribute to the painter Vasco Fernandes from Viseu, the city at the very heart of the Dão wine region. The wine is produced by Sogrape and is one of the first Portuguese wines to be sold bottled when most wine was sold in bulk. Today, the Grão Vasco brand is also used for wines from other regions of Portugal. The Dão is well worth trying for regular drinking.
